Results Certified for March 3 Presidential Primary Election

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – The results of the March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election were certified today following an extended canvass period. The final turnout for this election totaled 495,791 ballots cast, representing 52.12% of registered Santa Clara County voters. The Registrar of Voters officially certifies the results once the canvass of the vote is completed, which ordinarily occurs in the 30 days following an election. However, this date was extended by three weeks in accordance with an Executive Order issued by Governor Gavin Newsom due to the ongoing State of Emergency in California due to COVID-19.
